Rambling and mountain-biking
Rambling is the best way to discover the Ambazac hills, and hiking fans will absolutely love trails such as “La Grande Randonnée du Pays” and “La Boucle Zen”.
There are many trails (ranging from 8 to 100 kms) to choose from. Trail maps are available at the Ambazac tourist Office. You can also download them at http://www.tourisme-montsdulimousin.fr/a-faire/Randonnee-Trail and www.randonnee-hautevienne.com.
Themed hikes : sheperd’s cabins, small heritage sites, peat bogs… are just a few of the themed hikes organized by local tourist offices.

Hiking fans, come and try the exceptional “RANDO ZEN”, a 93 km hiking trail! A trail departs from each of the area’s “Communauté de Communes” towns : Ambazac, Jabreilles les Bordes, Les Billanges, La Jonchère St Maurice, Saint Priest Taurion, Saint Laurent les Egliese and Saint Sylvestre).
A “Rando Zen” booklet is available at the campsite reception desk and is for sale at the Tourism Office in Ambazac.
In the Ambazac Hills and Val du Taurion vicinity :
There 2 main mountain-biking centres (Ambazac and Jabreilles les Bordes) and 5 other departure spots (Les Billanges, St Priest Taurion, St Laurent les Eglises, La Jonchère and St Sylvestre) : a total of 28 trails, classified by level of difficulty.
Ambazac’s biking center, which has a FFC national label, is located right next to our “L’Ecrin Nature” campsite. You can get geared up on the campsite and set off directly from there to discover the area’s different level trails.
You will find the mountain-biking centres’ “Travel Plan” at our campsite as well as at Ambazac’s Tourism office.
Our outstanding natural environment sweeps through the Ambazac hills all the way to the Taurion riverside.
